HIGH SPEED SHEETERS

Innotech offers reliable and highly productive sheeters for cutting and stacking sheets for today's high speed presses. Available in web width from 20" to 38-1/2" in fixed as well as variable size designs, the heavy duty sheeter incorporates many design innovations.

A full page linear compensator accurately controls position of the cut. Provisions are made for mounting of automatic cut-off controls.

Tungsten carbide coated pull roller is provided with pneumatically loaded nip wheels to positively feed the web into the sheeter.

The rotary knives cut the paper against a stationary bed knife. The knives are skewed for gentle cutting action. Rectangular knives have four usable edges.

Large size cutter head mounted in preloaded bearings and equipped with two knives to provide capability to cut full and half size sheets. Cutterhead and bottom knife are supported in separate subframes for better temperature control and cutting accuracy.

The cut sheets are fed into the high speed tape section. These tapes run at a slight overspeed to the incoming web to create separation between incoming sheets.

The unique design of sheet kickers slows the cut sheets by pinching the tail end of the sheet against slow speed tapes. The quick action of the brushes decelerate the sheet and allow the next sheet to overlap to provide a shingled stream delivery.

Sheeter

Limit switches are provided to stop the press for early detection of jam-ups in the sheeter delivery section. An auxiliary motor is provided to accelerate the slow speed tape section to clear the jam-ups. Also the upper tapes can be pneumatically lifted to enable operator access to the area.

Static eliminator bars are mounted in the sheeter for efficient operation.

The cut sheets are delivered by the slow speed tapes to a descending pile elevator. Adjustable side joggers and rear joggers ensure a uniform pile. A series of individually adjustable air nozzles keep the sheets afloat to minimize friction and accurately move the sheets into the pile.

36" high piles of sheets can be delivered to the front or the side of the sheeter. Sheeter does not require special skid as any skid can be used.

Continuous operation with electrically operated forks to hold the sheets during the pile changeover.

Contact pressure between tapes can be adjusted at four different points to minimize marking.

Continuously descending pile is powered by an adjustable speed DC motor and results in excellent quality stack of sheets.

An optional Descending Fork assembly allows more time between pile change-over.

An optional frame temperature control system minimizes knife adjustments by maintaining constant temperature of the frames and cutterhead bearings.

VARIABLE SIZE SHEETER

Designed for optimum productivity, delivering high quality cut sheets at high speeds, and with the least waste, the Variable Size Sheeter is capable of cutting sheets from 7" to 28" in length. In addition, it provides numerous productivity-enhancing features as: quick size changeover, automatic jam clearing, adjustable speed shingle control. The tape transport system is designed to allow the use of the sheeter on heatset as well as non-heatset presses.

GAP CUTTING SHEETER

Innotech's Gap Cutting Sheeter enables cutting sheets trimmed to size avoiding the need to take a guillotine cut to remove non-print area, color bars or to achieve a different length then the press repeat. The Sheeter is designed to cut and remove one or two chips per repeat length and thus produce flat as well as folded, bleed cut pieces.

The Gap Cutting Sheeter has a unique patented cutterhead that is mounted with one two double knife holders. Each double knife holder is machined to cut a specified chip that is drawn into the internal passages of the cutterhead by vacuum connected to the stationary ends of cylinder. The chips are pulled away by vacuum at both ends of cutterhead for removal to customer's trim removal system. The size of chip varies from 1/4" minimum to 1" maximum.

The gap cutting feature is available on 20" and 26" wide Sheeters and Rotary Cutters for fixed or variable size presses. The patented cutterhead has streamlined internal passages and requires relatively low vacuum to pull the chips.

OTHER OPTIONS

SERVO DRIVEN SHEETER is available for multiple repeat presses or offline application. The Sheeter is driven by an independent drive motor and change of length is easily accomplished electronically at the key board. Servo drive can also be useful for sharing a sheeter between several presses.

SPLIT STREAM DELIVERY enables production of two adjacent stacks of cut sheets by slitting the web in two ribbons for more reliable operation, one ribbon is shifted transversely to create separation between ribbons. Includes hardened pull roller, three slitters, ribbon shifter device and additional side joggers.

BATCHER/STACKER is available for producing counted batches of cut sheets of smaller size, typically 8-1/2 x 11". INNOFORMER™ Folding Station can be located before sheeter to produce 4 pager folded even or flyers. Specially useful with gap cutting option. Innotech can also provide special sheeters to meet customer needs such as shipboard insertion, special sizes and configuration.
